The Regional Design Strategy Of The Stadium And Gymnasium

Currently, China is set off the upsurge of construction of stadiums andgymnasiums, all kinds stadiums and gymnasiums are being built in various cities,colleges and universities. There is no denying that Chinese stadiums and gymnasiumsconstruction is in a golden era, the size and quality of the stadiums and gymnasiumsare far more than in the past. Architects should pay more attention to the stadium andgymnasium design during this period, the one hand, because of its type attributes, thestadium and gymnasium entails new design concept, new technologies and newmaterials, showing a significant characteristic of the times; On the other hand as acity’s major public buildings and the city card, the stadium and gymnasium inevitablereflects a certain geographical features. But just the same as other buildings, the designof the stadium and gymnasium is affected by the wave of globalization to produce thesame phenomenon which loss of its national and regional characteristics. Therefore,this paper summarized and analyzed the theories and cases at home and abroad,summed up some principles and strategies of the stadium and gymnasium regionaldesign, play a guidance and reference for the design of the stadium and gymnasium inthe future.This paper select regional design as a research perspective, choose the stadiums asthe research object, use the theory of architecture, combined with knowledge of history,geography, environmental and so on, make full use of literature analysis, field researchand practice to participate as a research method; First, we briefly study the regionaltheory, including the interpretation of the concept of regional elements covered in theregional architecture and regional design theoretical basis; Second, the paper reviewedthe course of development of the stadium and gymnasium, summarized thecharacteristics and trends of the stadium and gymnasium, as well as the field researchof the typical stadium and gymnasium, come out of the analysis for the regional designof the stadium and gymnasium, in order to have a clear understanding of the researchobject, and pave the way for the following research; Finally, through the analysis of alarge number of projects, the paper summarized the regional design strategy of thestadium and gymnasium, and verify the rationality and feasibility of the design strategywith the project which authors involved in.The proposed stadium and gymnasium regional design strategy is not only conducive to the harmonious coexistence of the stadium and gymnasium with the baseenvironment, and echo the overall environment of urban space; also beneficial to thepersonal expression of the stadium and gymnasium, to solve the identical phenomenonof stadium and gymnasium design; the stadium and gymnasium regional design caneffectively follow the principle of sustainability, reduce the construction andmaintenance costs of the stadium and gymnasium, and improve the strength andquality of public services in the stadiums and gymnasiums.
