A Study Of The Design Strategy Of The Stadium And Gymnasium In Urban Common Primary And Middle Schools

In recent years, the decreasing physical fitness and functions among the juveniles hascalled for the social attention on the physical exercise of primary and secondary schoolstudents. However, the inadequate of the sports facilities and simple configuration in schoolsare the main reasons for the less exercises of the students. Besides, our country has paidincreasingly more attention to fundamental education and increased the investment in therelevant fields, thus laying a solid economic foundation for the building of the elementary andsecondary schools and ensuring the smooth construction of the school stadiums.This paper generally sorts out the development and construction of the stadium andgymnasium in domestic common primary and middle schools since the founding of new Chinaand summarizes the features of each stage. Meanwhile, by means of document collection,on-site investigation and questionnaire, this paper conducts investigation and analysis on thespatial planning and monomer design of the stadium and gymnasium in these schools and thecurrent status of students’utilization of the gymnasium. All these efforts aim at researching thegeneral design model of the stadium and gymnasium in primary and middle schools as well asthe main factors affecting the planning and design of these gymnasiums.After the specific illumination of the influential factors facing the gymnasiums indomestic primary and middle schools, this paper also analyzes the issues existing in theplanning and architectural design of the stadium and gymnasium from the perspectives ofusers’ demands, development pressure of urban lands,Requirement of Social Service andenvironmental protection and puts forward the adaptable solutions by drawing upon thefeasible approaches from the relevant domestic and international researches and engineeringpractices. Finally, it discusses about the future construction and development trend of theschool gymnasiums from the angles of humanistic care, Diversified and sustainablearchitectural design, and proposes adaptive design strategy.Undoubtedly, the school stadiumand gymnasium cannot be separated from the planning and architectural design of the primaryand middle schools. Therefore, it is of great research values as the result of the peculiarutilization conditions and the requirements for land, the substantial influence on overall layoutof campus and monomer design and the lack of the relevant research.
