A Research On The Influencing Path Of Trust On Management Performance Of Integrated Project Delivery Team

Traditional project delivery systems has been criticized for long, in order tochange the irrational conflicting and competitive relationship between the parties,recent years has seen the emergence of integrated delivery methods of projects, suchas the project partnership (PP), project alliance (PA) and so on. IPD is one of themwhich is referred to as Integrated Project Delivery. It is based on technology of BIM(Building Information modeling). The project management team composed by theproject owners, contractors, supervision, design, subcontractors, and suppliers takescharge of the project work collaboratively since the initiation of the project, and sharethe project benefits and risks.Related studies show that trust plays a vital role in the successful implementationof this mode, and even determines the success of it. In this paper, based on previousstudies, the influencing mechanism of trust in the project team performance isexplored. Through literature research, the performance of the IPD projectmanagement team is measured in the three aspects—the project performance, theteamwork performance, and the team decision-making performance. Trust betweenindividuals and trust among organizations are the two measurement dimensions ofproject trust. What’s more, the communication and collaboration measurements of theproject management team are also analyzed. On this basis, we propose an influencingmodel of trust to performance of IPD project management team. Survey, confirmatoryfactor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) are performed andSPSS18.0and AMOS software are adopted to examine the theories. Withcomprehensive and rigorous inspection of the data and analysis, the conclusion of thisstudy is drawn-trust has indirect effects on project performance under the IPD mode.Team communication and team collaboration are the two intermediary variables in themechanism.
