In recent years,construction projects begin to favor BIM technology,but there are some technical and non-technical obstacles in the practice of BIM-enabled projects,resulting in unnecessary losses.In this context,how to improve BIM-enabled project performance has attracted extensive attention.Among the influencing factors of performance,a good trust environment is very important.However,in the previous studies on the impact of trust on project performance,the definition of trust focuses more on interpersonal trust and less on technical trust,which is not suitable for the twodimensional environment of BIM-enabled project.Based on trust theory and sociotechnical system theory,from the dual perspectives of interpersonal trust and technical trust,this paper establishes the theoretical framework of "trust-sociotechnical system" which combines trust in BIM and trust in partners trust,develops the scale of BIM trust,and reveals the impact mechanism of rust in BIM and trust in partners on BIM-enabled project performance.The main contributions are summarized as follows:First,in the existing research,there is a lack of discussion on the measurement of trust in BIM.In view of the above defects,this paper develops a scale for trust in BIM,which contains five dimensions,and the scale shows good reliability and validity.The scale defines the measurement dimension of trust in BIM and expands the application of technical trust scale in the field of BIM.Second,in the existing research on the impact of trust on the performance of traditional construction projects,scholars focus on the interpersonal dimension,which is not suitable for the two-dimensional attributes of BIM-enabled project.In view of this defect,on the one hand,this paper establishes the theoretical framework of "trust sociotechnical system" based on BIM-enabled project,which divides trust into trust in partner and trust in BIM.On the other hand,this paper empirically confirms the impact mechanism of two types of trust on BIM-enabled project performance.The results show that both types of trust will have a positive impact on BIM-enabled project performance,and the collaborative contract has a negative regulatory effect on this impact process.In addition,collaborative behavior plays an intermediary role in the above influence process.This empirical study confirms the important role of trust in the operation of BIMenabled project,reveals the impact mechanism of two types of trust on BIM-enabled project,and also provides a basis for owners to organize and manage BIM-enabled project from the perspectives of trust and collaboration.
