21radiocarbon dates taken from pillars, beams and purlins of12buildings whichare over geographical and temporal distance are compared with the record of theliterature with the methods of comparison, exemplification and mutual verification.Then it sums up a distribution law that the truth value of the samples is alwayslocated at the end of the range of68.2%probability.The distribution law is applied to the study of the history of Guanyin Pavilioncombined with the methods of literature and archaeological typology with the oldmaterials used in the dark aisle of the mezzanine story and over the caisson ceiling asresearch object. As a result,6records of constructions not found in the literature areinitially built up and connected with the timber.Finally, the progress of radiocarbon dating in architecture is concluded andextended to buildings without literature.
