In the beginning of1980s, with the good performance of high water absorption and water-lock, SAP began to partly displace the fluffy pulp fiber and join into the core absorption layer of the disposable hygiene products which realize the big cut of quality and volume of the products. It becomes to be a milestone in the developing history of the disposable hygiene product. But the following "gel block" phenomenon let ADL (acquisition distribution layer) arises. Now the ADL is widely used in disposable hygiene products such as sanitary napkins, baby diaper, adult diaper and so on. The ADL is a isolation layer between the surface and the absorption core which can quickly absorb the liquid poured from the surface and prevent the side leakage, broaden the liquid diversion area and make the absorption core fully and effectively used, prevent the reverse diffusion, improve product quality and help products better win consumers. Now the domestic research about disposable hygienic product is very few. The innovation, performance evaluation and test method about the hygienic products are still in a state of blank in China. There are strong demand and broad market about disposable hygiene product in China. Now it is the high time to undertake some research and boost domestic disposable hygiene product’s quality and grade.Based on the market research, literature inquiry, tests and exchanges with experts, this paper focused on five aspects. The first was to present the performance evaluation index and test method about the materials and the disposable hygienic products. Secondly it made some tests about the eight kinds of ADL added in domestic and abroad famous baby diaper and the six types of ADL produced by one nonwoven factory. Thirdly considering the market demand, design concept, subject continuity and the analysis of the above experimental results, this paper designed the two new types of composite ADL materials and then made some experiments contraposed the materials themselves and the circumstances that added the ADL in diaper. Fourthly this paper gave a detailed introduction about the surface layer and the absorption core, mainly including the performance test and analysis about surface materials, the test method about the SAP lock water performance and feasibility analysis that the SAF apply to the absorption core. The five was using innovative test method to make some experiments to evaluate the performance of the eight kinds of famous diaper. Through the above research, this paper main draw the following conclusions.(1) The basically performance evaluation index of the ADL have diversion length, liquid through time, fluid absorption capacity, fluid retentive capacity and run-off. The diaper performance evaluation index basically has diversion length, free swell capacity, the retentive capacity, liquid through time and the rewet.(2) The ADL is generally the hot-air through bonding nonwoven made up ES fibers or the chemical bonding nonwoven constituted by special finished cellulose, PET and so on. These experiments show that comparing with the PE/PP the PE/PET is more suitable for ADL materials. The fine fiber introduction will affect the performance of temporary liquid storing capacity, lengthen the liquid through time but increase the longitudinal diffusion length.(3) The test results about the two independent designed ADL show that the later materials have a good performances on the diversion and temporary liquid storing than the former. The proportion of2D fibers of the latter has dropped which let absorb/hold liquid ratio has the obvious improvement. Then the ADL materials are made into diapers and we make some test about these diapers to comprehensively evaluate the performance of ADL materials. Through the testing results we find that comparing the original diaper the independent combination design diaper have the better resist permeability performance.(4) The fiber fineness of the diaper top layer is approximately20μm. The top layer is generally the hot-air through bonding nonwoven made up ES fibers and it is almost20g/m2. SAF has a very small elongation which leads to easily rupture in manufacturing process. The hot rolling nonwoven of SAF/ES (50/50) has a obvious strength losing after fluid absorption.(5) The experiment about the diversion length shows that the diversion length of the brand of COO.N, MERRIES, and PIGEON without the single ADL are shorter about5cm than the other brands. The rewet test presents that comparing with the COO.N, HUGGIES, SEALER and ANERLE the PAMPERS, MERRIES, PIGEON, MAMIPOKO have a smaller rewet amount.
