Perception of safety climate is the reflection in the human brain of several keyelements which can be perceived by personnel in a specific period of time. It canreflect the internal safety culture attributes of target enterprise, as well as the statusof safety management of the enterprise organizational behavior. In the managementpractices of coal mining enterprises, more and more companies recognize the greatimpact that perception of safety climate has on miners and businesses.The purpose of this thesis is to probe the relationship between perception ofsafety climate and security awareness. On the basis of the previous theoretical andempirical investigation, the author designed the miners’ safety atmospherequestionnaire which consists of14items and the miners’ safety awarenessquestionnaire which consists of12items. Then investigated536miners of12mineswhich are subordinated to the Four Mining Group in Anhui Province. Theconclusions are as follows:(1) The self-designed questionnaire on the miners’ perception of safety climateand miners’ safety awareness has high reliability and validity.(2) Miners’ perception of safety climate includes security management,security priority and security involvement. Miners’ safety awareness includessecurity psychological quality, security business quality, the tendency of securitybehavior and security attitude.(3) There are differences in the miners’ perception of safety climate andminers’ safety awareness in demographic variables, such as age, educationbackground, position, working experience and down-hole operation time.(4) There is relevance between each dimension of miners’ perception of safetyclimate and each dimension of miners’ safety awareness.(5) Miners’ compensation satisfaction positively regulates the relationshipbetween the miners’ perception of safety climate and miners’ safety awareness.That is to say, the higher degree of the compensation satisfaction is, the strongerimpact the miners’ perception of safety climate has on their safety awareness.
