Kenya Hara is the representative of Japan’s Design Center and the professor ofFoundation design disciplines in Musashino Art University. Kenya Hara is Muji (MUJI)artistic director since2002whose work is rooted in traditional oriental culture to return to theorigin of the design, focus on human-centered design, to abandon the excess part to conveya simple but not simple fine simple ideas, which were widespread attention and research.Kenya Hara’s design idea is widely used, especially in graphic VI and advertising design.However, his design theory doesn’t relate fields in depth yet in the development of fashiondesign. Kenya Hara’s designing work which on the localization of the cultural essence of theexcavation, as well as "people-oriented" and " low-carbon green " and other mainstreamdesign philosophy embodies, are worthy of costume designers design reference andexperience. This article will use jeanswear design to be an entry point to discuss with thefield of clothing design applications.In the context of Cultural integration in the globe, as a representative of Western cultureapparel, jeanswear has become an indispensable role in the global apparel which share a largepart of proportion in the domestic market. After20years’ development, the production andprocessing technology of jeanswear has become mature. However, due to the weakself-developed design aspects, jeans apparel products within the industry there has been littledifference between style, the lack of international competitiveness has a jeans brand andother issues. This is an urgent need of jeanswear designers to make some changes.To analyze the background, the stage of development and the application status art thefirst step in this article and then to sum up his design philosophy as well as the three forms inthe shape, color, texture application rules. The second step is to research the design of thedomestic jeans market situation and the development trend. To combine with its own analysisof the situation Kenya Hara’s jeanswear design concept is the design of application conditions.Finally, to summarize Kenya Hara Design Concept of jeanswear designing principles andapplication methods, with supplemented by design case notes. Through this research projects,I try to build Hara design concept in the design of jeans theoretical system for domesticself-developed products designed to provide new space the theoretical basis for jeanswear.
