The thesis studies the manifestation and application of wood texture in designing woodwork, and analyses the part material properties. The thesis presents some application methods of the wood texture features in designing woodwork.Wood texture contains natural texture and artificial texture. Natural texture displays the appearance features of wood through brightness, texture, wood color, rough characteristics etc. The methods for designing woodwork with natural wood includes:by covering surface with paint expresses the artistry and decorativeness of natural texture; by carving woodwork changes the effect of surface natural texture; by mining application on natural texture with special texture and different section; by special shaving displays out of the common nature texture effect; by applying the different texture combination and comparison methods to create more colorful natural texture. These natural material properties unfold the artistic beauty and the special natural form, and bring sensory enjoyment and comfortable mental satisfactory to people. The artificial texture mainly means the texture features of wood after artificial processing. There is large difference between the artificial texture of artificial plates and carbonization wood and the natural texture of natural wood.
