"Light Down Jacket" is a commercial concept proposed by the manufacturer in accordance with the new down products, and it has been accepted by the consumers since it was proposed. At present,"Light Down Jacket" has become a top seller of various brands, and it has also played an important role in the selling both in spring and autumn gradually. The bright business prospects of "Light Down Jacket" bring hope to this industry, and stimulate companies to optimize and upgrade on product development and design. As the "Light Down Jacket" differs from the traditional down jacket in both the selection of material, the design of style and the selection of color, it requires the designers to change their design concepts and design techniques, particularly break through the relatively conservative design thinking in the past and re-interpret the concept of down jacket. Under such circumstances, this paper has firstly interpreted the concept of "Light Down Jacket", then reviewed and analyzed the development course of the domestic and foreign down jackets and analyzed the background and market situation of "Light Down Jacket" in the method of case analysis. The entry point of the paper is to base the study of "Light Down Jacket" design on the consumer demand of the generations after90s and the main purpose of the design is that the research on the "Light Down Jacket" in the paper is more targeted and in-depth. Firstly, the paper has conducted a lot of questionnaire investigations on the consumer demand of the generations after90s, and then summed up three representative consuming groups based on the summary analysis of the investigations. The focus of the paper lies in the reasonable classification and detailed analysis of the design status of the "Light Down Jacket", while the difficulty lies in summarizing the design techniques of "Light Down Jacket" for the generations after90s and verifying in the final design practice. The design practice has combined the practical significance of the "Light Down Jacket" design and the consumer demand of the generations after90s, and made out designing programs that are targeted, to meet the needs of the generations after90s who pursue fashionable lifestyle and thus make the "Light Down Jacket" more different from the image of the traditional down jacket. The works in design practice have not only met the requirements of the generations after 90s for fashion, but also proposed to use the ergonomic principles to improve the partial functional design of "Light Down Jacket" costume and eventually to make the design have both use value and aesthetic value.
