Urban water shortage, water pollution, flooding and other probelom integrated concurrent. Urban water shortage, water pollution, flooding and other problems have co-occurred synthetically. In1960s, the subject named Urban Hydrology that focusing on researches of the urban water movement and change appeared. In recent years, with the advancement of science and technology, the enhance of monitoring and analysis capabilities, and the participation of a large number of domestic and foreign scholars, the researches of hydrological effects of urbanization have been furthered and refined. The issue of hydrological effects of urbanization has become one of the topics that are hot and at the frontier to scholars both at home and abroad. At present, the hydrological effects of urbanization research is relatively mature. A large number of scholars have carried out researches on such cities as Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen,Nanjing, Jinan systematically and profoundly. As an important hub of the Yangtze River and a driving city in Jingchu, Wu han’s level of urbanization has improved rapidly in recent years, as a result of which urban flood disasters frequently occur, the shortage of water resources gradually appears, the water pollution widely exists. Therefore, the study of the influence of urbanization on hydrologic and water environment is much necessary.Based on the relative statistics of Wuhan city and combining with other scholars’ research conclusions, the thesis takes the three main forms of hydrological effects of urbanization, namely, the effects of urbanization on hydrological cycle system, the effects of urbanization on water resources quantity and the effects of urbanization on water quality, as the main objects of this study。Given the limitations of theoretical basis of the water cycle and statistical materials this thesis studies the effects of urbanization on natural water cycle from the two aspects of precipitation and runoff. So this thesis mainly includes the following six parts. The first part introduces the background of the topic, the significance of the research, the research status at home and abroad, and the main content of this paper. The second part of this thesis introduces the relevant theoretical basis. The third section describes the basic situation of Wuhan’s natural economy and urbanization development. The fourth part is the main part of the paper which studies the influence of Wuhan’s urbanization on precipitation, runoff, water quantity and water quality to research Wuhan’s hydrological effects of urbanization. The fifth part combining the analysis of the Wuhan hydrological effects of urbanization, puts forward some strategies to improve the water environment of Wuhan city. The sixth part of the paper is the conclusion and outlook. It points out the deficiency and what can be improved of the paper.
