The Research Of The Historical GIS Of The Silk Road Based On Spatiol-Temporal Information Technology

The rapid development of modern information technology, especially the spatial information technology and network technology, provides a new opportunity for the traditional archeology. An electronic map was made after combine with the ancient history, remote sensing images, the data collected in the field and3S technology, modern information technology database together. Furthermore, a map service is issued by using WebGIS functions. In this way, the public could browse, search and edit the content of Silk Road through the Internet.In this paper, the spatial and temporal evolution of the ancient Silk Road model and its application were investigated. The current research situation, existing problems and the future development trend of the ancient Silk Road were also discussed. Firstly, the spatial information technology and related information technology used in the study of the ancient Silk Road was explained. For example,3S spatial information technology, network technology, database technology. Secondly, to explain the process of collating the ancient history data, remote sensing data and the field data, this paper takes the ancient Silk Road of Xinjiang in the Han and Tang Dynasties period as the object of the study. In addition, an electronic map was made after combined with ArcGIS software and remote sensing images of Xinjiang; The design of historical Geography information network of the ancient Silk Road in Xinjiang based on spatial information technology were finished.then simulated the space-time evolution process of the ancient Silk Road in the Han and Tang dynasties, and combined with the geographical environment and climate factors, the influencing factors of the spatiol-temporal evolution was addressed. At last, the achievements and shortcomings of the website system of historical Geography information network of the ancient Silk Road were analyzed and summarized, some solutions were provided for improving the academic value of the Silk Road site system and serving the public better.
