Effective field theory method has become an important measure to tackle stronginteraction at low energy because of the nonperturbative nature of Quantum Chromodynamics. The often used effective theories include linear sigma models, the chiral perturbative theory, the hidden gauge symmetry theory and heavy meson effective theory. They all regard mesonsas their degrees of freedom and their lagrangians share the same symmetry as the lagrangianof QCD. They contain infinite terms and the number of interaction coupling constantsincrease with the number of terms. In conventional sense they are not renormalizable. However, if all symmetry allowed terms are taken into account, renormalizability can berealized; or one can regard the masses of mesons as their energy scales, then scale parametersbecome inherent parameters of them. The most successful effective theory is the chiralperturbative theory, which can deal with the interaction among pseudoscalars, and become animportant theory for low energy hadron physics. However, this theory can not deal with interaction among vectors and pseudoscalars. One finds that, the chiral perturbative theory has implicitly a local gauge symmetry. Once it isrecognized, one can introduce gauge bosons by demanding the local symmetry of theory, these gauge bosons are regarded as vectors. A theoretical frame for investigating interactionamong vectors and pseudoscalars is given, this is so called hidden gauge symmetry theory. Inthis theory, vector bosons become dynamical gauge bosons and obtain their masses by Higgsmechanism. Moreover, when electromagnetism is incorporated, the vector dominance modelbecome part of this theory naturally. As is well known, the symmetry breaking arising from the difference of quark mass isimportant in discussing light meson interaction. Only when this breaking is considered, thebetter agreement with experiments become possible. Our main work is to add symmetrybreaking terms out of quark mass difference to the original gauge symmetry lagrangian. In this thesis, we first introduce the hidden local symmetry theory. Then, based on ouranalysis on the several existing laglangians with symmetry breaking, we give a more generallagrangian. This lagrangian includes all terms in the most successful one in phenomenologicalapplication, we look forward to better theoretical results from this lagrangian.
