Research On The Employment Effects Of Foreign Trade Of Anhui Province

With the deepgoing development of economic globalization and international division of labour,there is an increasing impact on the international trade for the involved countries and regions.On the strength of it’s superiority on location and factor endowment,the foreign trade of Anhui province has achieved rapid development and it’s opening degree has rised to a new level.Thus,foreign trade plays an important role on Anhui province’s economic and social development. In the meanwhile, both the employment scales of Anhui province and the employment absorptive capacity of export-oriented enterprises have been rapidly expanded and strengthened.As a result,the effect of foreign trade of Anhui province emerged.Under this background, exists important theoretical and practical significance through researching the effect of foreign trade,studying the mechanism how foreign trade impacts employment and quantifying the effect.There are six chapters to be expounded as below.Chapter Ⅰ relates to the introduction proportion of the thesis,showing the objective and significance of this paper, analyzing present research situation at home and abroad, clarifying the research conception and method and pointing out the innovative points.As the preface part,this chapter maintains the macro control and lays the foundation for further discussion.Chapter Ⅱ summarizes the theoretical basis of employment effect on foreign trade,including Classical International Trade Theory,H-O-S Theory,Protective Trade Theory,Effective Demand Theory, Foreign Trade Multiplier Theory,Trade Development Strategies Theory,and so on. Throughout these international trade theories,however,there are no specialized academic research on the relation between an nation’s foreign trade and its employment situation.But,the classical international trade theories above and other relevant economic theories explain that relation from different view somehow. This chapter is analyses from the theoretic perspective.Chapter III respectively analyses the current foreign trade and employment situation of Anhui province.And explains the overall and structural situations of each by combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis method.The results show that, on the one hand, the foreign trade of Anhui province exists development and adjustment potential.And on the other hand there are objective inevitabilities and optimization potentials for improving the employment level. This chapter is analyses from the practical perspective.Chapter IV separately researches the impact path for employment from primary commodities trade(which we use agricultural products as a represent) and manufactured goods.The mechanism and impact path of agricultural products are mainly manifested in three aspects.Firstly, advanced industrialized countries have absolute advantages agrotechnology and pricing power. Secondly, underdeveloped countries have long-standing weaknesses.Thirdly, price elasticity of agricultural products are usually less than one.The mechanism and impact path of manufactured goods are demonstrated in the following aspects.First,through export to expand the domestic employment.Next,import lead to the shrink of employment.Finally manufactured goods trade promotes technology improvement which will change the domestic employment structure.The empirical analysis of chapter V is divided into two parts.Part one analyses the effect of primary commodities trade and part two analyses that of manufactured goods.In this chapter,we combine a substantial number and chart, graph, diagram to analyse the trade situation and characteristics. The result of empirical analysis shows that both the import and export of agricultural products of Anhui province will lead to reduce the employment,and the export of manufactured goods will boost the employment market and its import has negative effects on job market.The final chapter is the foothold of this paper which puts forward some proposals on the basis of the research in the previous sections.
