With the development of China’s deform and opening-up policy, China’s import andexport trade volume is increased year by year. For export, mechanical and electricalproducts are developed quickly and it has been No.1export category for17consecutiveyears since1995when its trade turnover exceeded that of textile industry. In the range ofmechanical and electrical products, vacuum cleaner export business keeps increasingrapidly in the past10years. However, from year2008, affected by the world financialcrisis and the trade barrier from all foreign countries, also with the challenge of RMBappreciation and increase of raw material and labor cost, vacuum cleaner sales amountdropped a lot. It became negative growth in year2009. The study of vacuum cleaner exportbusiness of L company is not only meaningful to itself, but also important to the wholeindustry and export business.This paper focuses on export business of L company. Try to define the root causes andfactors of business decline through research and interview. It is found that:(1) Theenvironment in general is not favor L company. China’s resources advantage over othercountries is shrinking and there’re challenges both inside and outside China.(2)Lcompany lacks quality awareness, no innovative product, no private brand and salesnetwork. All these make its sales flat.Base on cause analysis, also referring to successful examples, the paper gives it’sstrategies on how to proceed and improve. Hope the study could be beneficial to exportbusiness.
