Since our land disorderly development and lead to a variety of environmentalissues, this study try to establishment of a set of land development suitabilityevaluation indicator system.The so-called "suitability" is used to describe thesuitability of study object for development.If it’s suitable, suitable for which types ofdevelopment activities; if it’s not suitable, what’re the limit elements. Then throughthe evaluation,we can guide land development activities and play a role.indevelopment of planning.This study to sort out the various environmental problems caused by landdevelopment, according to “refer results”,“comprehensive impact”,“not easy toimprove”,“widespread”,“reflect the nature” of the five principles to select evaluationindicators, using Analytic Hierarchy Process to determine the weight of indicatorevaluation, based on GIS software for multi-factor weighted stacking method toevaluate, choosing Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration to doing empirical researchbuilding indicator system and getting comprehensive land development suitabilityevaluation results map. And then evaluation of the suitability of land for constructionbased on comprehensive suitability evaluation results. Throughout the evaluationprocess using the "one-vote veto" methods to improve the comman problem that theoverlay analysis often diluting the key indicators.Zhongyuan Urban Agglomeration is located in the center of Henan province,whit Zhengzhou as the center, including Luoyang, Kaifeng, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo,Xuchang, Pingdingshan, Luohe, Jiyuan, a9-city-intensive area. The extent of itsdevelopment, various types of research degree both higher, so selecting the area todoing empirical research, means more evaluative meaning and maneuverability. Andurban agglomerations mode is the main mode of China’s development, which alsomakes the evaluation more practical.This is the first attempt to seen Land as a whole integrated geological body toreaserch development suitability evaluation indicator system, and verify the scale ofthe urban agglomeration. The results show that in the study area, suitabledevelopment area and relatively suitable development area accounted for65.7%of theentire region. It means in most parts of the study area can be a higher degree ofdevelopment suitability, which mainly in low-altitude areas such as plains and the foot of mountain; The region in that development suitability is relatively low accounted for34.3%, mainly due to groundwater, soil environment, in addition to the limitations ofthe terrain elements. Superimpose the urban agglomerations construction land statuson the suitability of the land for construction and,then analyse the superposition. Theresults show that most of the construction land are located in suitable developmentarea, a few cities and towns located in the relatively suitable development area. Ahandful of cities and towns located in the vicinity of the fault zone, so should payspecial attention to the development and expansion.
