In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s national economy and industrial tools, the power-tools market matures, the manufacturing enterprises in China are working toward technological innovation from technical imported, especially in the power tool industry in China has entered a rapid and stable development stage. The degree of fierce market competition intensified, coupled with the industry part of the core technology has spread, forcing R&D projects for new power tools more and more importance for lots of companies. The R&D project investments of power tools product are large-scale, involving many driving factors, the related risks are huge, so the risk management of R&D projects will help to achieve the successful completion of the power-tools R&D projects.This thesis is to study the characteristics of the power tools business R&D projects, with the discussion of the risk characteristics of the power tools R&D projects and risk factors. The related risk factors of schedule, quality, cost, market, and the Safety standard process of R&D project management of power tools are expatiated as well.With this background, the power tools company is getting to emphasis on risk assessment and control of new product development projects, to prevent the marketing and sales of new products and other activities will be successful. How to apply the theory of risk assessment and combined with the existing environment of the current economic development, risk assessment method of new period of the power tool development industry projects, it becomes especially important. In this thesis, the characteristics of the product R&D projects in the power tool industry through the analysis of risk factors affect the R&D projects of the power tools to build power tools R&D project risk assessment system, the establishment of the risk assessment model, using the expert method, flow chart, checklist method, the FMEA tools such as methods, and the Safety standard management system for project risk analysis and evaluation, and develop control strategies and measures to eliminate or reduce the occurrence of project risks. and provide a scientific basis for investment decisions of the project. Meanwhile, we hope to provide practical experiences for risk evaluation and control of similar projects in this industry.
