The catering industry as a traditional service industry in China’s tertiary industry has always maintained a strong growth momentum. However, with the rapid growth, as the human resource management does not get the attention it deserves, especially the compensation system is inadequate, resulting a high staff turnover and leading to a series of questions, such as poor sanitary conditions, lower service level of the staff and the food quality standards, as well as less competitive of the enterprises. Thereby affecting the entire catering industry standards development, and has even become a bottleneck of the sustained and rapid development of the catering industry.In order to solve this problem, you must understand the problems in the human resource management, especially the imperfect motivate mechanism of the compensation system. The thesis used the xx restaurant for example, analyzing the current station and compensation system of the restaurant, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative method analysis, in-depth understanding the pay satisfaction and motivation factors of the restaurant staff. The problem of lacking motivation of the compensation system was also pointed out, such as serious deficiencies in pay motivation unreasonable salary structure and greater limitations in the motivation mechanisms.The author referred to the research results of the incentive system and the motivation theory, finding out the domestic and international developments and research process in this field. Consultation of lots of literature and obtaining the research-based data by full investigation on the basis of questionnaire, the author proposing reasonable approach and suggestions by comparative analysis^case studies and combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis method. Further perfecting the motivation mechanism of xx restaurant compensation system, redesigning the salary management system, in order to reduce the high staff turnover, thus improve the employees work enthusiasm and initiative.In conclusion, the article analyzed the xx restaurant from the point view of the current view of management and economics, proposing reasonable methods and suggestions. Giving full play to the role of the motivation mechanism, the compensation system is essential for solving the incentive compensation system of the catering industry. Strengthening the performance appraisal is a key to the improvement. Therefore, the thesis has a double meaning of theoretical and practical topics. The proposal is clearly suggested that in order to reduce the staff turnover, a compensation system must be established, thereby maintaining the stable development of the catering enterprises, and laying a good foundation for the sustained and healthy development of the catering industry.
