Study On Cost Management And Control Of Construction Project Based On Value Engineering

Construction project cost control is the key point to the market competition ability of a construction enterprise, and also the core content of construction project management. In China, cost control methods of most construction enterprises still stay at the stage of target cost dividing according to the"tender documents", though value engineering is the best way to control the cost. To apply value engineering theory to construction projects can enhance the construction cost control effectively and improve the business performance. The popularity of value engineering will also play an important role in the development of our national economy.Based on the review of value engineering theory, this paper studies the application of value engineering theory to construction project cost control, considering the characteristics of construction projects.Firstly, this paper reviews the researches on construction project cost control and the theories and application of value engineering at home and aboard;Secondly, this paper discusses the related concepts and composition of construction project cost. controllable cost, and construction project cost control and its methods; Thirdly, on the basis of the concepts, principles and procedures of value engineering, this paper does researches on the method of construction project cost control with the application of value engineering, which including the application of value engineeing to determining the target cost.designing the construction project organization and choosing the construction materials. Finally, this paper gives a case study.
