Manufacturing execution systems which is a management information system and management thinking for the workshop production is between the business plan layer and the control layer. It plays the role of contacting with ERP and the control layer. Thus, it is particularly important for the implementation of manufacturing execution system that how to integrate MES and ERP.The paper describes the development, the principles and the functions of ERP and MES. And the paper based on the background of an enterprise. Manufacturing Execution System project analyzes several techniques in how to integrate MES and ERP for the company which has been running ERP.It put forward a good solution, and the correctness and efficiency of the solutions have been proved by practice or experiment. The Techniques include:The paper establishes an integrated functional model between ERP and MES.The model reduces the traditional MES module functions and MES is more concise and professional; Based on functional model, the paper proposes four information exchange ways between ERP and MES. And it describes the flows and content of all several information ways; The paper elaborates scheduling algorithm and describes the problems of workshop scheduling in practical. It gives each solution for each practical problem, and the correctness, feasibility and efficiency of algorithms are proved through practice and experiment.The Research is a combination of theory and practice, which effectively improve the production efficiency of the enterprise, and it has brought economic benefits for the enterprise. Moreover, the research has a good reference with the work of the coordination of MES and ERP.
