Study On The International Competitiveness Of China’ Agricultural Products

China is a large agricultural country. With the accession to the WTO and thedeepening of economic globalization, the international competition of the agriculturalproducts is becoming more and more serious. Especially in recent years, because of theopening of China’s agricultural products market and the decline of tariff, the trade deficit ofChina’s agricultural products has increased year by year. So if we want to change thesituation of the trade deficit and expand the foreign trade of the agricultural products, wemust enhance the agricultural products’ competitiveness.The paper which analyzes the international competitiveness of agricultural products,and gives some suggestions on enhancing the level of competitiveness of China’sagricultural products have certain theoretical meaning to our agricultural products’production and the formulation of import and export’s policies. Meanwhile, changing thelabor advantage into competitive advantage with the policy suggestions is of great realisticsignificance on both developing the international market and protecting the domesticmarket.The main content of this article is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is theintroduction of this article, which introduces the background and significance of the thesis,research methods and ideas. It also gives the main contents of the paper and innovation.This part also classifies and organizes relevant references. The second chapter provides anoverview of the relevant theories of the competitiveness, including the theories of trade andPotter’s theory of competitive advantage, the concept of agricultural productscompetitiveness; The third chapter provides some main problems exist in the trade ofagricultural products and analyzes the function of the trade; The forth chapter analyzessome factors that influence the competitiveness from both direct and indirect aspects. Thefifth chapter is the most important part. In this part international market shares, TC andRCA are used to evaluate the competitiveness of the agricultural products,and it alsomakes comparative analysis on the there index with America、Brazil and India. The sixthchapter is about some policy suggestions according to the results of competitivenessanalysis and the influence factors.This paper uses index evaluation method to evaluate the level of the competitivenessof the agricultural products and uses the comparative analysis method to make comparativeanalysis with some main countries. So the level of the competitiveness of China’sagricultural products can be shown more intuitively. But due to the incomplete data and theindependent index, the paper can only reflect the level of competitiveness in certain extent.
