Nowadays, with rapid growth of world economy, we have entered theKnowledge Economy Age. At the same time, competitions between enterprises arebecoming fiercer, and competition concerning points has already changed fromnatural resources, techniques and channel to human resources. With replacing capital,machinery investment and other traditional methods, human resource becomes the keyfactor in competition. Therefore, how to attract, inspire, educate and retain talents isalso the primary issue for an enterprise to keep competitive. Salary management is thecore issue in enterprise human resource management. So, how to design, maintain andadjust a healthy employment salary system is the key to the success of modernenterprise.Based on the existing salary system of Tianjin Lingang Port Group, the paperelaborated the salary system development history, functions and popular mode, andfurther brought forward the salary system re-design theory basis. With the researcheson the Group salary system and existing problems, the paper used a series of salarymanagement theories, techniques and methods, and designed a set of systematic andeffective salary system.The newly-designed salary system aimed at the existing problems of salarymanagement in Tianjin Lingang Port Group. Under the salary system redesignprinciples, and based on the internal existing posts analysis, external salary standardand modern salary management theories, the newly-designed system chose applicablesalary standard, took salary system as the basic system, reconstructed salary,performance and benefits system, and formed a new system. The paper summarizedand evaluated the newly-designed salary system as well, and also put forward theimprovement possibilities. With the combination of theories and managementpractices, the paper was written in the hope to be used for reference for the salarydesign of domestic enterprises.
