With the effect of globalization of the economy and the trend of inconsumer market, the competition among the enterprises is no longerindividual but collective among the enterprises of upstream anddownstream. Concisely speaking, it’s the competition of supply chain.As an important node in the supply chain, supplier is one of the keyfactors for a successful supply chain. Meantime, the importance of thesupplier chain management has been acknowledged by the world and theera. In China, we started to study the supplier management much laterthan the developed economy, as China economy’s development startedmuch late, the attention has not been drawn to the supplier managementat this developing stage.As China is so shining as manufacturing land, more and more overseacompanies have come to China to set up buying office. Most of the staffsin these buying offices are local Chinese. Their actual function issupplier management as they have no power to decide which to purchaseand the content of purchasing order. The paper,with the reference to theSC company, the company the author is working at, is dedicated in spotting the problems that is common among these buying office, suchas the insufficient communication with overseas purchase department,the mismatching of the supplier management with purchasing strategyimplemented by overseas purchasing department. The thesis analysis thecharacters of the purchasing of SC company and conclude it as JITsourcing, which induces the concept of JIT purchasing and thecorresponding supplier management.
