Since the beginning of Chinese reforming and opening, joint venturehas played a very important role in the process of Chinese economicconstruction as a new economic form. Sino-French joint venturesperformance is eye-catching almost in all the crucial industry in China.With the fast development of Chinese economy, the operatingenvironment has greatly changed and Sino-French joint ventures met alot of problems which resulted in some of them going to splitting,individual proprietorship or bankrupt. One of the main reasons is theculture difference which induces cross-culture management problems.Whether an enterprise is able to deal properly with the problems causedby culture differences or not will largely determine its success or failure.After summarizing cross-culture-related scientific or technical literature,this small thesis studies some surface management problems of a Sino-French joint venture SA-TEE from the perspective of culture differenceto analyze the thoughts and behaviors of both the cooperating sides tofind out the essential culture-related reasons. Radar images visuallyillustrate the differences between typical culture dimensions, culturecenterline to indicate possibly adjusting direction of the relevant culture factors. Integrated with the real management practice of enterprise corecompetitiveness construction, cross-culture philosophy and method havebeen combined with the project management and achieved certainsuccess.
