Research On Quality Management Plan Of Vehicle Performance Development In New Passenger Car Project

Vehicle performance is the non-visual perception of passenger caroperating performance, and it is very important for customer to choice cars.With the rapid development of China’s automobile industry, a growingnumber of car manufacturers began to develop new passenger cars. However,if carry over the existing development process of localization projects for anew passenger car project, the lack of systematic quality managementactivities may lead to the vehicle performance targets can not be achievedsuccessfully. How to ensure the quality of vehicle performance has becomethe focus of car manufacturers. The main objective of this article is to studythe quality management plan of vehicle performance development in detail.Found through research on typical localization project of Shanghai GM,the deficiencies of development process, core document and organization arethe main three factors that mostly affected the quality of vehicle performancedevelopment. With introduction of the concept of quality management plan,the author created a core document and updated the management processwith new organization structure. By using of the stage–gates system, thevehicle performance development process is optimized; the activities offunctional departments are also clearly confirmed.This quality management plan of vehicle performance developmentapplied on a new passenger car project of Shanghai GM. The plan helped to solve the problem that vehicle performance target cannot be break down andstrengthen the functions of communication between departments. Byoptimizing the process, vehicle performance status was continuously trackedand the quality was ensured. Consequently, this quality management plan willprovide guidance for the future quality management of vehicle performancedevelopment.
