Because of the development of international economic, stability of politics, widely spread of IT and recovery on people’s leisure awareness since the reform and opening up, the tourism industry has achieved rapid development in China. Tourism has become one of our pillar industries. The professional tourism marketers, as the bridge between the tourism enterprises and tourists, play an important role in the survival and development of tourism enterprises. But currently the professionals’study on the tourism marketing is inadequate on the width and depth. Therefore, this research is devoted to the study of tourism marketing practices-oriented training from a totally new point of view in order to construct the cultivation system of tourism marketing talents.This paper uses methods of literature, comparison, field survey to research the optimization of practices-oriented training mode on undergraduate education of tourism marketing. The paper takes the employment-oriented and personally capacity as the foundation to build up a new practices-oriented training mode based on understanding of the situation on talent-training of tourism marketing.This article is divided into five parts. The first part introduced the research background, significance of this study and research methods, reviewed the relevant research results at home and abroad; The second part described the history of the tourism marketing concept, analyzed the characteristics of the tourism market; The third part stated the basis for research on training mode of undergraduate education in tourism marketing major, the basis include the survey about current training model of tourism marketing professionals and the analysis about application-oriented training modes of foreign famous tourism college; The forth part proposed the new practice-oriented training mode of undergraduate education in tourism marketing major and stated the optimization measures; finally, in concluding part, elaborated on the conclusions of this study and weaknesses, and raised the future outlook.
