Resource type city is human society economic development process of a class ofrelying on its geographical range of natural resources and the rise of the city, its knowindustry and pillar industry is centered around the development of mineral resourcesand set up mining and primary processing, generally these resources are not renewable.As a result of mineral products resource type city ’s own characteristics and thesituation of our country, will inevitably lead to a serious waste of resources,environmental deterioration, economic structure is onefold wait for a series of problems,so the city sustainable development theory research and specific practice is particularlyimportant.Panzhihua, Sichuan Province, mineral resources, city, by the index system andevaluation of algorithms, to find an evaluation of the effective model of sustainabledevelopment, provides a theoretical support and practical standard for the futuredevelopment of these cities, with long-term significance.The main contents include:1.according to the system’s point of view, the sustainable development of thesystem of city-owned mineral source is divided into four subsystems, respectively, forthe subsystem of the economy, environment subsystems, resource subsystem, socialsubsystem, and introduced the significance of each subsystem. Indicators extractedfrom the principles and methods, while drawing on research on sustainable urbandevelopment evaluation index system,19representative significance evaluation, andthe meaning of these indicators are specific instructions.2. Evaluation criteria for the characteristics of the mineral resources in the cityand sustainable development, taking into account the artificial neural network traininga long time and has fallen into a local minimum, and other defects using a geneticalgorithm to optimize the BP neural network modeling. Building evaluation indexsystem, select the appropriate indicators of standard values for different indicators,and the index system modeling data normalized using the GA-BP method.3. Evaluation and analysis of Panzhihua City,2002to2011, Panzhihua City’ssustainable development in the steady progress. From the point of view of sustainableurban development, in2002and2004show a downward trend, but increased slowly from2005onwards, until the beginning of2007an upward trend to accelerate. Can beseen from the evaluation of value to2011, the evaluation value at the highest bit, butless than0.75, reflecting the Panzhihua City in the future in order to achieve andmaintain a strong sustainable development of the state must work harder.4. Put forward some suggestions and strategies for the sustainable developmentof mineral resources in the city from the four aspects of the economic, social,environmental, resource, guiding significance for the future development of thesecities.
