Abstract/Summary:
Energy is an important material base for human survival and social progress, it isalso the significant strategic material for economic development of a country. Inresent years, with the increase of our country’s economic power, the demand forenergy has been boosted, the contradiction between the supply and demand of energyis becoming the bottle-neck which restricting the economic development. Meanwhile, some defects like low energy use efficiency and high energy dependence on importshave strongly threatened our country’s economic and social sustainable developmentand energy security. International trade is one of the three important factors whichspeed up economic growth, however, the long period of extensive trade mode andhigh energy consumption led to high energy dependence and high energy consumption, the change of energy factor will cause direct and profound impact on exports. Therefore, the study of impact of energy constrain on export has particular theoreticaland practical meaning. In this dissertation, academic analysis and empirical research were used toexplain the influences of energy constrain on export. At first, on the basis of viewingand summarizing the past relevant literatures, the paper explained the influencemechanism of energy constrain on export, in which the price conducting mechanismof energy constraint and export structure optimization mechanism were emphasized. Then, after analyzing the present situations of our country’s energy constraint, thepaper made an empirical research on the relationship between energy constraint andexport scale, energy constraint and export goods price, energy constraint and exportstructure. The empirical research found that firstly, energy constraint didn’t lead to thedecrease of export scale, on contrary, it increased the export scale, the main reasonsfor this are China’s huge export quanties and China’s special oil pricing machanisms.Secondly, energy constraint caused different impact on different type of energyconsumption goods, it had an obvious effect on energy consumption intensive goodsand an obscure effect on non-energy consumption intensive goods. Thirdly, energyconstraint resulted in the energy consumption intensive department contraction andnon-energy consumption intensive department expansion. The superfluous labour, resources and capitals from the energy consumption intensive department flow to the non-energy consumption intensive department, therefore, the development oftechnology and factors substitution ease the effects of energy constrain. At last, according to the extraordinary experiences of developed countries, thisdissertation proposed the relative policy suggestions.
