With the development of the society and the progress of the science and technology, the tide of knowledge economy has arrived. Many companies face the challenge of internationalization, informationization and knowledge update. Knowledge has become the key to the business success. It is the knowledge workers who master those resources. And one of the most important elements for enterprises’sustainable development is knowledge worker. Therefore, the management of knowledge workers and encouragement for them can influence the company achievement very much.The power industry concerned in the article needs high technology and rich knowledge. The task and management of the power enterprises demand consummate skills, abundant knowledge and experience accumulation. The workers engaged in power enterprises should study the professional knowledge further and wider, and clock up experience continuously. So, those kinds of knowledge workers are valuable. At the same time, they are the point that decide whether the power enterprise can develop stable, sustainable and constantly or not.The article is mainly about how to encourage knowledge workers. There are six chapters here. The first chapter is a foreword. It introduces social background, necessities for writing this article and explains the research methods, purposes and innovations. Second chapter introduces the theory of knowledge workers, incentive factors, the definition, characteristics of them. And Then, it compared the incentive factors and the current incentive situation between domestic and overseas knowledge workers. In the third chapter, it is about the current encourage situation for knowledge workers, including manning, open questions, generant reasons and solutions. The fifth chapter made communications with the knowledge workers in A Electric Company and dig out the main incentive factors for knowledge in this electric company. Based on those records, it continued to do a questionnaire about how the knowledge worker think about the incentive factors in their company and what they pay attention to for incentive factors. At last, with the help of those theory and date, it worked out a framework and designed a incentive measures.The article combines the study of theory and empirical research. In the theory review, it summarizes the knowledge workers and knowledge worker incentive theory. On this basis, the article use creative empirical research. By the way of individual reviews of people who have different ages, academic levels, work experience and background and widely questionnaire surveys, the article find out the problems, necessities and work out the solutions at last.I hope the article will provide some useful recommendations and references for the management and motivation of the knowledge workers in electric power enterprises.
