Core competitiveness is a kind of comprehensive competitiveness that is based on enterprise knowledge and skills to adapt to both interior environment and exterior environment. It is embodied in the abilities of an enterprise’s technology, management and integration. Core competitiveness has obvious value, uniqueness, extension and integration. It serves as a power engine for an enterprise to survive and develop and also it is the basis for a company to win market competition advantage.At present, there commonly exist some problems with regard to improving competitiveness among the B2C electronic commerce companies and this largely affects the growth and development of B2C enterprises. Now how to improve core competitiveness to form competition advantage has become an important issue that B2C enterprises have to confront. The facts prove that the lack of abilities of an enterprise’s technology, management and integration is becoming an important factor to hinder the improvement of competitiveness and even affects the future of B2C enterprises. Therefore, to research the ways to improve core competitiveness is of realistic importance for the improvement of an enterprise’s competitiveness.This thesis will start from the basic theories about core competitiveness and draw on the evaluation system of core competitiveness to analyze models and approaches. By combining the industry features of costumes in B2C electronic commerce, the research about the strategies for VANCL to improve core competitiveness will be conducted. This thesis will clarify the status quo and problems of VANCL in terms of improving core competitiveness and analyze the underlying causes. This thesis will demonstrate the necessity and urgency for VANCL to improve core competitiveness. And by referring to the experience of the successful enterprises with regard to improving core competitiveness, the thesis finally arrives at the conclusion that VANCL should improve core competitiveness by establishing corresponding strategies in the following four aspects, i.e., technological ability, managing ability, enterprise culture and brand management. In so doing, the core competitiveness will be enhanced.
