Russia And China Forestry Cooperation Study

China’s timber trade with Russia, China-Russia strategic cooperative partnership isan important development in one of the areas. Forest resources of China and Russiahave the different factor endowments. Russia has rich forest resources, area and volumeranking first in the world; China’s forest coverage rate is only about the world average.With China’s restrictions on timber harvesting continuation of the policy and thesustained development of the increasing demand for timber imports. Russia and Chinaas major powers forestry neighbor, has a unique geographical advantage, in the longterm as China’s major forest resource base and wood suppliers, forestry products inbilateral trade in a very important position.This paper studies the co-operation between Russia and China forestry questions,an overview of the development and the forestry current situation of China and Russia,analysis of the bilateral timber trade between two countries in recent years, and thispaper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions in China-Russia forestrycooperation.
