The Yangtze River connect seven provinces and two directcontrolled municipality from west to east. It’s the main channel of the water transportation in our country. And it’s very important to the economy development of the city along the river, especially the dry cargo transportation. In recent years, As the development of the Yangtze River basin and coastal areas’s economy, the exchange of goods increasingly wide between them. And the cargo exports is growing. In such a market environment, the demand of the river-sea-ship is growing. During the Yangtze River, the main dry bulk cargo is iron ore in recent years. In China’s industrial distribution, we can see that36%of the iron and steel industry in our country is distributioned along the Yangtze River. More than70%of the iron ore need to import from Beilun port, and then transfer to the steel companies along the Yangtze River. The imports of the iron ore in Chongqing is more than4.7million tons each year. Recently, the main problem of the river-sea ship’s navigation in Yangtze River is the depth of the channel, which brings about the problem of cargo transshipment. In the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the channel conditon is differ greatly. In different season, the depth of the channel is different, and so in different sectors. After completion of the Three Gorges Dam, the channel condition of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River became more complex. The natural channel and the Three Gorges channel is different defined in each season. In such a complex environment, the river-sea-ship will load shedding during the navigation. Therefore, chose the reasonable transshipment model and optimize the mode of river-sea ship’s transportation is very important to the company of our country shipping grows. And it is also benefit to the improvement of the economic of a ship.In this thesis, the purpose and meaning is expounded first. And then, the channel condition of the Yangtze River, the port condition and the supply of goods are analyzed. Meanwhile, the principal ports along the Yangtze River are recommended. After that, the main transportation mode of goods is recommended. Besides, the merit and demerit of each mode is been analyzed. According to the bottleneck problem of the river-sea-ship when shipping during the upper-middle reaches of the Yangtze River. And combine with the transshipment in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. A new transshipment model, which use the river-sea-ship and inlandship to transport goods together is been presented to solve the problem of ships routing. Then, a appropriate mathematical model is been set up and a effective solution is been given. Finally, according to the wide difference of the Yangtze River channel in different season, the optimization model is been solved in different condition. And then, the optimum proposal in each season is been work out.
