Comparative Research On Diversified River-sea Transportation Modes Of Middle And Lower Reaches Of Yangtze River

At the present time, there are three kinds of shipping modes in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River. Which are listed respectively as follow:River-sea-transferring transportation, river-sea-through barge transportation and river-sea-through transportation. The following text will give you a full understanding of the three different shipping ways.The traditional transferring transportation mode is to choose one port of the lower reaches of Yangtze River as the transferring port, then change to a smaller vessel shipping to the destination.River-sea-through barge transportation mode is all the time using barge from sea to Yangtze River, but it also needs a transferring port to rearrange the barges.The river-sea-through transportation mode is using a smaller vessel to go to the destination directly.But until now, there is no article to discuss the three different modes at the same time. This thesis will study the three different modes from two aspects that are qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis in great detail. Through the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP), I make a conclusion that the river-sea-through transportation is the best mode in the future in theory, but considering the load and unload capacity of every port and the actual condition of sea-route of Yangtze River, the traditional river-sea transferring transportation method can not be abandoned absolutely at the moment, so the more rational transportation mode is dominating river-sea-through transportation and subsidiary river-sea-transferring transportation.
