Multimodal transport is a new emerging study field in recent years, it integrates traditional various modes of transport and makes it become logistic transport reflecting the concept of modern logistics by use of modern information technology. As the front area of participating in the international market competition and opening to the outside world, the Yangtze River Delta has already become the important transit hub of national and even global logistics network system because of its perfect infrastructure and reasonable urban layout. It is the first choice of the people flow, cargo flow, capital flow and information flow, and the perfect case of multimodal Transport study. Basing on analyzing the evolution of cargo flow, the paper optimizes comprehensive logistics networks in the Yangtze River Delta by multimodal hub networks. As the beginning of the paper, the first chapter elaborates the origin and development of the logistics and then review of the domestic and foreign research of regional logistics systematically. They study it in many ways, while it is very little about space-time evolution of cargo flow and regional logistics network from a regional scale. The second chapter analyzes the space-time evolution of the cargo flow in Yangtze River Delta from the distribution of cargo flow, the relation of manufacturing and cargo flow, and the distribution of containerized cargo flow. Since the 1980s, the volume of cargo flow grows very rapidly and concentrates on the port, airport, and superior city gradually the Yangtze River Delta. Another way, the container shows the development trend of balance in the spatial distribution. The third chapter forecasts the logistics demand in 2010, 2020 by use of a variety of mathematical methods and explores the logistics supply in the Yangtze River Delta. It shows that the Logistics supply and demand is in balance. While there are many problems in in-structure, space layout, scale etc.The fourth chapter introduces the concept, feature, structure, mechanism of the multimodal hub network model systematically. Basing on this, we construct inter-region land-sea multimodal hub networks by choosing Shanghai port and Ningbo-Zhoushan port, construct inter-region land-air multimodal hub networks by choosing Shanghai airport, Ningbo airport, Nanjing airport and Hangzhou airport, construct in-region land-water multimodal hub networks by choosing Shanghai port, Ningbo port, Nanjing port, Zhenjiang port, Gaogang port, Jiangyin port, Nantong port, Zhapu port an Taizhou port. The fifth chapter gives a summary of the whole paper and improves it.
