The study of how the Industrial Restructuring will affect energy efficiency---especially the impact of restructuring in Manufacturing industries on energy efficiency has important significance, giving the fact of low energy efficiency and backward economic growth pattern of our country. It also concerns the sustainability of both energy and national economy. Combining with present theoretical and empirical studies by scholars home and abroad, and current energy efficiency in macro and medium level, the paper classifies the Manufacturing industry by the type of input factors by a Panel model regression in Stata using panel data between 2001 and 2010 to analyze diverse effects on energy efficiency of different manufacturing sectors, and thus to prove the significance of Industrial Restructuring in improving energy efficiency. Major conclusions are as below:By a statistic description of the national energy utilization, the paper finds out the Secondary Industry has the strongest dependence on energy. And by a further analysis of energy utilization in Manufacturing Industry, the paper comes to a conclusion that the top 10 energy consuming sectors take up 85% of it.After the analysis and conclusions, the paper advises an emphasis on Industrial Restructuring while improving energy efficiency, and more support for technology intensive manufacturing sector while downsizing energy-guzzling sectors, and thus to achieve a sustainability of resources, environment and national economy.
