| Energy issue is the focus of China’s development.At present,China’s energy consumption,environmental pollution and other issues have become increasingly prominent,and improving energy efficiency is the most direct and effective way to solve this problem.In the critical period of China’s economic transformation,improving energy efficiency is the key to achieve sustainable economic development.As the pillar industry of China’s economic development,the manufacturing industry has the characteristics of high energy consumption,besides its energy efficiency is at a low level.Therefore,the research on the energy efficiency of manufacturing industry can be of great significance to improve the energy efficiency of China.This paper takes the manufacturing industry as the research object,and establishes the SFA model to calculate the total factor energy efficiency of the manufacturing sector in 2000-2014.Besides,this paperdivides the manufacturing industry into three categories: technology intensive,labor-intensive and capital intensive according to the factor intensity to analyze and comparethe characteristics of energy efficiency of three kinds of factor intensive industries and the manufacturing industry.Then through choosing six factors: technological progress,capital deepening,energy price,enterprise scale,energy consumption structure,opening degree,the paper establishesthe fixed effect model to analyze the influence of various factors on the energy efficiency of different types of industries.Due to the technical progress may cause the energy rebound effect,and weakens the influence of technical progress on energy efficiency.Therefore,this paper uses the logarithmic cost function to construct the cost share equation,and uses the dynamic least squares method to revise the model,besides considers the asymmetry of price to calculate the energy rebound effect of manufacturing industry.In the case of the existence of the rebound effect and separating the influence of the rebound effect,the paper further studies the impact of technological progress on the energy efficiency of the manufacturing industry and the three different factors intensive industries.Through the calculation of the energy efficiency of the manufacturing industry,it is found that the energy efficiency of the various segments of the industry has a large difference,besides the industry has shown a low energy efficiency.The energy efficiency of the manufacturing industry is only 57.4%,there is still room for improvement.From the point of view of factor intensive classification,technology intensive industry has the highest energy efficiency,while the lowest is capital intensive industry.Although for labor-intensive industries,its energy efficiency is not very high,but its growth rate is relatively fast.Through the analysis of energy efficiency factors,we can find that energy price and capital deepening are positively related to energy efficiency;The proportion of coal consumption and the opening is negatively related to energy efficiency;The scale of the enterprise has a significant positive effect on the whole manufacturing industry and capital intensive industries,but it has a negative impact on the labor-intensive industries.The results of the original model show that the impact of technological progress on the energy efficiency of the manufacturing industry is not significant,even inhibits the growth of energy efficiency of technology intensive industries.But excluding the impact of rebound effect,it is found that technological progress has a significant positive effect on the energy efficiency of each category.Finally,according to the research results,this paper provides some corresponding policies and suggestions to improve the energy efficiency of the manufacturing industry. |
