Research On The Joint Routing And Resource Optimization Algorithm For Static Traffic In IP(MPLS)/SDH/WDM Optical Networks

With the development of optical network, gradual maturity of WDM technology and expansion of IP traffic demand, broadband and intelligent Optical Transport Network (OTN) is needed more and more. Considering the fact that SDH network and technology are widely used in practice, we study the static traffic grooming problem in IP(MPLS) over SDH over WDM optical network. An improved joint routing and resource optimization algorithm based on Tabu Search Algorithm is proposed in this thesis. This research provides effective schemes and strategies for optical network design, and has some theoretical value and application prospect.In this thesis, we summarize the development and status of multi-layer network, conclude the optical network design methods and critical technologies, and discuss Path Compute Element (PCE) technique which is used to solve the inter-domain routing problem in multi-layer multi-region networks. Sponsored by the Key Technology Research and Experiment System based on PCE in Multi-layer Multi-region Optical Networks from the State High Technology Research and Development Project (863 Project), and based on the former efforts of our research group, we construct a mathematic model and apply a heuristic algorithm, Tabu Search Algorithm, to solve the joint routing and resource optimization problem for static traffic in large scale IP(MPLS)/SDH/WDM network. The algorithm simulation software is designed and realized. The performance of this algorithm, including throughput and total consumed network resource etc, is investingated by comparing and analyzing the simulation results. And the input and output interfaces of this software are preliminary constructed in this thesis. On the basis of summarizing the obtained results, we finally give some aspects of research for future.
