With the continuous development of urban rail transit informatization, all types ofinformation systems are growing. The range of distribution is increasing, and the number ofinformation points is also increasing. Therefore, staff cannot effectively manage and organizeproduction. Based on this background, the application of SCADA has come into being theurban rail transit. The objective of this application is to solve the problem of communicationand information sharing among the various systems, to ensure the security and reliability ofelectric railway, improve the level and efficiency of transportation scheduling management,and ease the burden on the staff and management personnel.The full name of SCADA is "Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition". And it was alsoreferred to as supervisory system, or integrated supervisory and control system. SCADAsystem in domestic urban rail transit generally refers specifically to the Power SCADAsystem. But in this article, it refers to the ISCS in home. In the urban rail transit, SCADAsystem generally includes a series of systems: Power SCADA (PSCADA), BuildingAutomation System (BAS), Platform Screen Door (PSD), Electro-Mechanical System (E&M),Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV), Access Control System (ACS), Public AddressSystem (PA), Public Information System (PIS), Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), Fire AlarmSystem (FAS), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Communication System (COMM), MultiService Network (MSN), Time Distribution System (TDS) and so on. The SCADA mainlycollects the status data, supervise and control all kinds of intelligent terminal equipments fromthe hierarchical and distributed system. And it can manage the event fault alarms, and reflectto the Human Machine Interface with graphics, sound and text. In addition to the abovefunction besides, it also provides the auxiliary functions of event log querying, printing,personnel management, training, etc.At present, the urban rail transit is entering a period of rapid development in China. Itdemands on the improvement of information collection technology, and equipment supervisory&control technology. Therefore, the importance of researches focused on thisfield has become increasingly prominent. SCADA has successfully been applied to the SaudiArabia metro line and the No.15subway line of Beijing. The research of the application is inline with the development requirements of China’s urban rail transit informatization.
