In the process of urbanization, public transport will increasingly occupy significant position. And urban rail transit will be popular because of its characteristics such as fast, punctual, comfortable and less pollution, etc. Urban rail transit is a capital and technology intensive industry, and has a high demand of performance and accuracy. Automatic Train Control is the indispensable core application of urban rail transit construction, and locomotive dynamics modeling and simulation is one of the most critical technologies of ATC.Simulating complex train equipment and operation environment through computer simulation technology, as well as testing and evaluating the move situation of train, is a very economical and reliable method. However, there exist some weak points in present research. On the one hand, most theoretical basis is traditional dynamics, which is only suitable to analyzing simple and common dynamic performance. On the other hand, it usually involves secondary development due to emerging new vehicle structures, which will increase the cost and difficulty of simulation.To sum up, the paper first of all is trying to build a dynamic model of urban rail transit from a view of system engineering. Based on the train traction calculation theory and the research status quo at home and abroad, the paper gives a brief description and analysis of train traction, resistance, braking force and their effects on the train's running process.Then, combined with some programming knowledge of LabVIEW and MATLAB, the paper describes simulation system design and development and realizes the simulation of above model. They are both excellent programming language, which can enhance usefulness and reliability of simulation software. Simulation software can imitate driver console, simulate actual train's moving and real-time reflect calculation results. Finally, the paper tests and evaluates this simulation software through experimental platform, so as to prove the validity and reliability of the model.
