Research On Tobacco Control Reports Of Yunnan In2008-2012

It has been seven years since China signed the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in2013. However, the domestic situation of tobacco control has not been improved, the measures and result been not up to standard, far from the requirements of FCTC. Tobacco economy of Yunnan accounted for more than half of the local fiscal revenue, while the absence of local policies and regulations, the overflow of anti-tobacco control information makes tobacco control work harder. As a result, the research about the present situation of tobacco control reports has practical and guiding significance in the media propaganda.The thesis makes the text analysis of tobacco control reports from2008to2012, and gets to the conclusion that tobacco control reports in Yunnan do not make an impact in the audience due to several factors such as repeated content of reports, narrow topic, imbalance information source, traditional subject, and as well as the media not in correspondence with social force.The thesis briefly expounds the purpose and significance of the research, and then analyzes the development trend of Yunnan tobacco control reports and the similarities and differences among native and non-native media. And it also puts forward improve advices as follows by combining the characteristics of tobacco control reports in Yunnan:to pay attention to tobacco control information propaganda, at the same time the media workers should be good "gatekeepers" to balance the relations between long-term reports and focus reports, the control information should be released with the support of important person, tobacco control reports should reflect human kindness and humanistic care to provide smokers smoking cessation information in several channels. Finally, this thesis attempts to interpret the barriers in the tobacco control work of Yunnan and the game relation between control reports and anti-control information under the current background of tobacco development, based on this, the author analyzes the promotion space and report strategy of Yunnan control reports.
