With the development and deepening of Web2.0, Wiki system has already beenused widely in the processes of knowledge sharing and collaboration. It has openness,cooperativity, self-organizing and other characteristics, these make the Wiki form aknowledge collaboration environment with many participants and which iscommunity-oriented. It is because of these characteristics of Wiki system, which makeit have achieved great development in the process of knowledge management andknowledge sharing, and also make article web pages which represent knowledge inWiki systems form a complicated and open knowledge network. Combined with theNational Natural Science Fund Project "Research on theories of slow‘and quick‘combined knowledge extensible optimization and sharing in knowledge supernetworkenvironment"(project NO.:71071144) and Zhejiang Province Natural Science FundProject "Research on evolution and response of online public opinion fromperspective in complex network theory"(project NO.:Y6110332), this paper studiesthe internal features and evolution rules of this complex and open knowledge network,it plays an important role to make better use of Wiki system in knowledgecollaboration and sharing activities and to optimize the knowledge processing.To reveal internal features and evolution rules of knowledge network in the Wikisystem, firstly, Wikipedia is taken as a case and empirical methodology is used in thispaper, along with complex network theories and the perspective of knowledgecollaboration. After the directed article network (A-Net) and topic see also network(S-Net) are built in terms of the relations among various articles in Wikipedia, theempirical statistical measurements, such as the node degree and its distribution,degree correlations, the average path length, the clustering coefficient, etc. areanalyzed for such complex networks. The empirical results show that the in-degreedistribution of wiki knowledge network follows a power-law distribution and theout-degree distribution follows a stretched exponential distribution, the networkpossess disassortative and small-world features, and A-Net has stronger diffusioncapability and higher propagation speed than S-Net. Secondly, according to the above characteristics and the core features of Wiki knowledge network, two differentdirected knowledge network models are proposed and simulated respectively.Simulation results show that its performance is similar to the empirical results of twodifferent Wiki knowledge networks, which can be better to confirm to the real growthprocess and evolution mechanism of the Wiki knowledge network. Finally, we make asummary of the researches according to empirical and simulation results of Wikiknowledge network, so that some suggestions and strategies to use wiki systemsupporting knowledge collaboration and sharing better are provided, moreover, weoutline some open questions for future research..
