The Research Of Negative News Reports On The Impact Of Image Of Henan

In recent years, There has been increasing attention to the issue of Henan Province, which is located in the central plains.In2011, the development of Central Plains economic region was increased as the national strategy. Henan province will be received more attention in the future, Nowdays,the world is an attention economic era.In this background,the regional image as a soft power is very important,especially for a region’s progress.The media image becomes almost the gist and criterion to judge the whole image of one place,thus media reports become a main channel that one knows about Henan.This thesis analyses the negative news report of Henan,and research the impact on the image of Henan.Combined with the government work report of Henan Province.I chose the most influential newspaper "People’s Daily","The Beijing News","Xin Min Evening News","Southern Metropolis Daily","Huashang Daily","Henan daily"and "Dahe Daily", from April2012to June2012, and analyses the negative news reports of Henan on quantity,length,the report topic,and the source.After the analysis,we found that the government of Henan is looking forward to building good regional image.,but too much negative news report,which is unfavorable for Henan to set up positive image.A large number of negative news report show that some government officials lack the sense of responsibility,undermine the authority of the law, some peasant-workers lack the right-protection awareness, the health and medical equipmentObviously,these negative news reports will cause negative influence to the Henan image.In my opinion,I believe that the negative news coverage seems to have a negative impact on the image of a region.but those negative news reports may not only have no negative impact on the image of Henan, even could establish a positive image, if the media is able to grasp the "degree" and "quantity" of those news reports, dig out the positive effect from those negative news, and meanwhile as a constructive role,media should make good communication with the government to minimize the possibility of the occurrence of negative news reports.
