Research On Tsingtao Ming Pao

Tsingtao Ming Pao started to publish from February1930in Qingdao, Shandong. Proprieter Yang Xingqin and chief editor Wang Jingxi made it a local newspaper with background of the kuomintang. The newspaper was been runned for nearly eight years, recorded in detail the State Customs, news, comment, form of communication, both literary supplement. Tsingtao Ming Pao stopped been printed in1937when the Japanese invaded Qingdao. Tsingtao Ming Pao has played an important role in propaganda of local construction after the national government recover the city and knowledge popularization, etc. In the mean time, Tsingtao Ming Pao absorbed a large number of young intellectuals in shandong district, whose activities of running the newspaper had a great influence on the history and culture development in Qingdao region.Based on Shandong Provincial Libraiy Collection of Tsingtao Ming Pao newspaper data, this paper analyzes the Tsingtao Ming Pao’s content, morphology, development and other respects. For the First part, it introduces the historical background of Tsingtao Ming Pao. The second part gives a general description of newspaper distribution, running concept, layout settings, editing status.etc. The third part of the paper takes the important news, city news, national communication for the study, analyzed and summarized its characteristics one by one. The fourth part describes the newspapers remarks section, including editorials and commentaries. The fifth part studues the newspaper supplements, associating with the personal characteristics of the editors-in-chief, elaborating thier styles and localization features. Part seventh gives an independent analysis for a special supplement Bishuluhua, highlighting the Tsingtao Ming Pao’s characteristics and impacts in the cultural field. Finally, to conclude by comprehensivlly analyzing the full text to explore the impact and practical significance of Tsingtao Ming Pao.Under such a framework, based on the text of the original newspaper and relevant historical context, paper cross-uses methods such as the literature analysis, content analysis, having made detailed analysis and elaborate of the newspaper content, revealing in reign of National Government, Tsingtao Ming Pads positive role in urban construction, the influence and help to Kuomintang ruling in local, limitations of its ideology and the development, which reflects press characteristics in1930s’ Qingdao, the level of running a local private newspapers, as well as provide a reference to local history in Qingdao even Jiaodong area before the1949of journalism history.
