As the development of computer, communications, automatic control technology, the level of automation of the ship has been greatly improved. Therefore, the operating level of the crew needs to be improved. The mode of crew operational training is changed from the traditional maritime navigation training to computer simulation technology-based simulation training. The crew training cost has been reduced and the security of training has been improved through this way. As the heart of the ship, the importance of ship power and electric system is self-evident. The ship is affected by the level of crew operation. The ship power electric simulation training system is based on the small pod electric propulsion system of ship electric propulsion systems laboratory. It can be used to train students. The system is composed by teacher machine, simulation machine, server, student machines. The server is a very important part of the system. The efficiency and quality of training will be affected by the performance of the server.The content of this paper is the design and implementation of server software in ship power electric simulation training system. The main work are as follows:1. The background, significance, research status of the topic are introduced briefly. The research content is pointed out.2. The composition and the principle of ship power electrical simulation training system are introduced in detail. The server software of the ship power electric simulation training system has been designed based on the depth analysis of ship power electric simulation training system and students training content, including functional design, performance design, and extendibility design.3. Combined with the database requirements for expansibility in ship power electric simulation training system,UML (Unified Modeling Language) is used to design and implement the database. ADO.NET technology is used to achieve a basic database operations.Compared to conventional ER (Entity Relationship) database design, the extensibility of the database is better.4. The communication protocol of the system is designed based on the comprehensive analysis of content and real-time performance requirements for data transmission of ship power electric simulation training system. It is realized by using delagation which is unique in C#. And a lot of communication test experiments are done.The results indicates that the requirements of the communication protocol can be fully met.And it has a good real-time performance.Finally, research work in the paper has been concluded comprehensively and further research aspect is pointed out.
