Design And Implementation Of Context Aware Data Collection Tool

Usability and User Experience is a key factor to the products’ success, often used in the information and communication interactive products, such as the Internet products, computer software and electronic products. As the development of technology, the user experience of the products have been highly attended, more user experience researchers and design teams start to research and design for the experience.It is proved that user-centered design is the proper process can bring good experience to the users, user experience research and usability metrics is the first step in the process. It is necessary to get the requirement from the users, to understand the characteristics of the users’ needs, cognitive process and the mental models. Because of the diversity of the products, complexity scenarios of the usage, the traditional research methods are limited. How to collect data according to the users’ context become to the biggest challenge for the user experience researchers, it is important to do the research base on the context. Context Aware technology has been applied in many fields, with the intelligent terminals have the ability of context awareness, so in this paper we plan to design and develop a context aware research tool for the user experience researchers to collect data and information.This paper introduced the research work about the literature review, function demand analysis, interactive design, develop and test process. In the stage of literature review, introduced the using status of the tools and methods both in academic and industry. In the stage of function demand analysis, according to the observation of numbers of actual user experience research process and combined the collecting data process, confirm the function features and usage scenarios of the research tool. In the process of designing developing and testing, fully consider the various situation of the actual usage. The work in this paper provides a reference basis to long terms design and rich the functions of the user experience research tool. Through the work, confirms the effective of the research tool in the user experience research and usability metrics.
