With the development of pervasive computing, Internet of Things and smart appliances, the traditional smart home gradually transit to the smart home based on context-aware. Context-aware smart home can provide not only traditional functions but also comprehensive information interactive functions. It could make people’s life more comfortable and intelligent. This thesis focuses on the context-aware technology of smart home. Context-aware computing is a crucial factor to achieve active services from passive ones under smart home environment.This thesis focuses on the context-aware applications in smart home. The main research contents can be summarized as follows:(1) This thesis studies several key techniques of context-aware such as context-acquisition techniques, context modeling methods, context inconsistency resolution and context reasoning techniques. Then the research status and inadequacies of these techniques have been analyzed and summarized.(2) The concept of context-aware in smart home is defined to build a framework of context-aware system based on smart home. We give a detail description of each part of the system, and illustrate its workflow, and classify the context information. A context-aware modeling is given based on the above studies. We propose a context reasoning mechanism which supports the uncertainty, flexible hierarchical and multi-model fusion.(3) By adopting collaborative communication and information processing technology in the context-aware field, we propose a concept of collaborative context-aware and establish a framework model of collaborative context-aware. We give the work flow and information process flow of the framework model, and verify it by applying collaborative context-aware to the application of wireless screen transmission.(4) Aiming at the resolution of inconsistent context information, we research a global multiple context inconsistency detection and elimination algorithm which is efficient and reliable. Through the research and analysis of existing context inconsistency resolution algorithms, we present a context inconsistency resolution algorithm which is based on the combination of windowed user feedback and evidence theory. According to the simulation, it is verified that the accuracy of new algorithm is superior to other algorithms in the case of context acquisition with burst error.Based on the above research works, we build a more humanized, comfortable and intelligent context-aware smart home which improves utilization of network resources and the speed of event response. It enhances the comprehensive performance and QoS (quality of service) of smart devices, and also improves the comprehensive QoE (quality of experience) of human-computer interaction.
