Using various research methods including literature, expert interview and case study, this thesis investigates the public libraries’website information service under the new ubiquitous information society environment.In the form of key-point investigation, the thesis selects China country library and31provincial public libraries in our country and Library of Congress、 The British Library、 National Library of Canada、 National Library of Australia and other public libraries as respondents. It makes a preliminary understanding of the present situations and existing problems of public libraries’website information service at home and abroad through network, then puts forward the development countermeasures about how to improve the website information service in the future.First of all, the thesis illustrates the background、 purpose、 significance and research status、 research contents、 research methods at home and abroad of the public libraries’website information service research under the ubiquitous information society environment.Secondly, the thesis analyzes the connotation and characteristics of the ubiquitous information society.
