Along with the rapid development of mobile communication technology, the number of machines and equipment has been far more than the number of the population, so M2M service has huge market potential and M2M communication will be the subject of future communication. M2M is still in the initial development stage. How to realize mobility management technology in M2M is an urgent problem need to be solved. But existing research of mobility management technology is mainly designed for human-to-human (H2H) communication. Therefore the emergence of M2M has put forward new requirements and challenges to mobility management technology.In M2M applications, the terminal equipment is often massive. In order to make unified management and control of the terminal equipment, the terminal equipment belonging to the same M2M user service and/or having same M2M service features and/or having the same attribute may be divided into a M2M group. In order to successfully introduced M2M business in the conventional mobile communication network, optimization of the group-based mobility management is a key optimization point.Therefore, the research on M2M-oriented group mobility management technologyhas broad research space and important practical significance.The main content of this paper include:(1) proposes a basic mechanism of group paging to MTC device, and in order to avoid that the introduction of the group paging cause interference to single paging, a method of distinguishing the group paging and a single paging is proposed, and in order to avoid that the MTC devicesupporting two different paging electricity increases power consumption, a method of replacing paging occasion of single paging with paging occasion of group paging is proposed.(2) conducts numerical analysis to paging performance of single paging and group paging utilizing queuing theory model.(3) proposes a method of establishing public bearer, at the same time in order to ensure the the MTC devices within the group utilize the public bearer successfully, a method of selecting the same core network element for all device in a MTC group is proposed.At the end of this article, a summary of proposal in this paper is made, and the next step in the direction is proposed.
