The GSM network is now facing more and more pressure with the rapid growth of radiocommunication service especially (E)GPRS traffic outburst in recent years, PS Service is eating upthe limited GSM frequency resource even though our network has a very high average TRX perCell configuration, consequently, a series problem such as Paging Bottleneck and Paging Deletewhich we discussed in this article, arising because the network is overloading even sometimesexceeding its original specification.in the paper, firstly we tried to explain what is the GSM Paging Process in theory, secondly, calculated the safety paging capacity of all the BSS interfaces and figure out the bottleneck, thirdly, analyzed the root cause of the paging problem we faced, and suggested corresponding solutionwhich proved effectively work by trial in NingXia live network, aim to solve the paging problemwhich caused by insufficient CCCH resource, or NMO II MS can’t be paged while having PS datatransfer.
