As the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Popularization of Science and Technology has been promulgated for ten years, Popularization of Science and Technology (PST for short) undertakings are arriving at the peak of the boom. In2011, the State Council promulgated the Implementation of Scheme for National Scientific Quality Action Plan (2011-2015), which means our country pays much more attention to the science popularization. With the appearance of a large number of science exhibitions, the progress of PST has been promoted. It is of great significance to study how to use multimedia system in science exhibitions in order to break the limitations of technology application and the rigidity of design philosophy in domestic science exhibitions.Multimedia technology presents an increasingly integrated, intelligent, networked development trend and it has been widely used in various industry sectors. Multimedia system in science exhibitions not only can greatly enrich the display forms but also has a great effect on transmission efficiency of knowledge and interest. Based on the research topic of construction of National IOT Application Exhibition Center, this thesis studies the design and implementation process of multimedia display system in science exhibitions. By using edge-blending processor for huge cir-curtains projection and innovatively integrating flow theory into system design, the multimedia system obtains a good display effect.According to plenty of references and papers, this thesis makes a research of current application situation of Multimedia systems in science exhibitions. Based on the research conclusion, this thesis analyzes the design theory of the system and R&D supporting technology. Illustrated by the case of National IOT Application Exhibition Center, it makes a detailed analysis of the design process and specific implementation method of the multimedia content, the hardware and software parts. The research group eventually achieves the research goal by developing an immersive and interactive multimedia display system, which can bring the audience an immersive experience by innovatively controlling the edge-blending of eight-channel projection system in giant ring screen. By the immersive and interactive system design, the realization of hardware systems of the edge fusion technology and the analysis of multimedia development technology, this thesis makes an innovation in system theory design and implementation method, which provides a theoretical guide and examples of reference for other similar researches. In the end, the article proposes limitations and the goals of follow-up researches including the studies on constructions of the PST theoretical system, the application of intelligent terminal controllers and other multimedia technologies in the science exhibition.
